Presentation of the Centre
Founded in 1740 by the Jansenist monk Jean Godinot such as a hospital for “cancered” patients, the Institut Godinot was the first cancer center in the world. Member of the UNICANCER network, the current Institute is an institution exclusively dedicated to oncology, with a Department of Surgery-Anesthesia, a Department of Radiotherapy and a Department of Medical Oncology. In addition, the Department of Imagery and Nuclear Medicine, the Pharmacy Department and the Department of Onco-biology, together with the Support Care Department, ensure the multidisciplinary and comprehensive care of patients.
The quality of care provided has been recognized by the certification of the French Haute Autorité de Santé at level “high quality of care”, namely the highest level of quality.

Education
Godinot Institute plays a full role within the Faculty of Medicine of Reims and is the reference institution for training in oncology in our territory at two levels: graduate and post-graduate medical education and training.
The Institute's university staff are responsible for initial training in cancerology for medical students (all specialities), specific training for practitioners specialising in oncology, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine, and paramedical training in cancerology. The institute supervises interns and residents in medicine and pharmacy cursus.
Post-graduate educational programs are additionally developed by the institute, destined to liberal practitioners (pharmacists, general practitioners, nurses, …).
