Presentation of the Centre
The Integral oncology centre Clara Campal (HM CIOCC) is a new concept for the treatment of cancer patients, unique in Spain and an international benchmark, with multidisciplinary, comprehensive and personalised care.
The structure of HM CIOCC responds to an exhaustive analysis of the most effective models existing in the world in the field of cancer treatment, after the implementation of the American integral model, which translates into a multidisciplinary and consensual vision of the oncology patient.
Main Research Activities
Regarding clinical research CIOCC is at the international forefront in terms of volume and complexity. We have the HM CIOCC/START PHASE I Unit, with more than 800 patients treated with innovative therapies. Our researchers have accumulated more than 1,000 impact index points, which places us among the international elite.
As lines of innovative research, CIOCC has the Liquid Biopsy Programme which, through a simple blood test, can discover some of the molecular characteristics of some specific types of malignant tumours and continue at the cutting edge in the personalisation of treatment in the different tumour processes.
Core Facilities
CIOCC has a day hospital oncology centre with more than 60 outpatient chemotherapy administration stations and cutting-edge technology in robotic oncology treatment - the Da Vinci robot and Hugo robot - as well as radiotherapy technology with a 64-slice scanner, 3 Tesla closed magnetic resonance imaging, high-field open magnetic resonance imaging, intraoperative resonance imaging, Da Vinci robotic surgical assistance system, PET-CT, nuclear medicine and mammography with a prone table, which allow maximum definition and accuracy of all types of tumours.
