Presentation of the Centre
Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital is one of the cornerstones of the Latvian healthcare system. The Hospital is a state-owned capital company with a single shareholder – the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Latvia - and nowadays is providing inpatient, outpatient and emergency care in 26 medical specialties, serving more than 600 000 patients a year, including diagnostic and therapeutic radiology procedures.
The Clinic of Oncology at PSCUH has been operating for more than 60 years.
Main Research Activities
Hospital is striving to maintain excellence in research. Specialists of the Cancer Centre participate in national and international collaborative research projects and international multistructural clinical trials in various specialties. We are proud of our close collaboration with other important players in the research field in Latvia, such as, Riga Stradins University Oncology Institute and Biomedical Research and Study Centre.
Core Facilities
Oncological patients at PSCUH are treated at various locations within the hospital territory, collectively referred to as a Cancer Centre. The Clinic of Oncology is the central location where cancer patients are treated, but many other units, such as Institute of Pathology, Institute of Radiology, multiple surgery units and others are involved. Such close collaboration allows us to provide the most efficient treatment and care for our patients.
Education
Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital is renowned for its role in medical education in Latvia in all levels of medical education for local and international students. It serves as a university teaching hospital for all medical specialties available on site and provides lifelong education opportunities for healthcare professionals. Our institution is the clinical base for the two universities that provide medical education – Riga Stradins University and University of Latvia.
