Presentation of the Centre
Fondazione Poliambulanza is a private, not-for-profit, multi-specialty hospital institution
accredited by the Italian National Health Service. It was founded in the early 20th
century as a charitable initiative by the Congregation of the Handmaids of Charity,
and to this day, it retains its religious identity.
As a referral center for Eastern Lombardy, the hospital provides inpatient and
outpatient services within the framework of the Lombardy Regional Health Service,
engages in scientific research, and offers educational activities, including university-level
training.
In the field of oncology, the hospital has developed comprehensive preventive,
diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative care pathways. These are grounded in a
holistic approach to patient care and supported by state-of-the-art technologies,
including advanced laboratory diagnostics, endoscopy, robotic surgery, radiotherapy,
nuclear medicine, and neuro-radiosurgery.
The results achieved through clinical and organizational commitment have been
internationally recognized through accreditation for excellence according to
Joint Commission International standards.
Furthermore, Poliambulanza has distinguished itself over the years
as a cutting-edge healthcare institution in the field of e-Health, successfully
reducing the distance between physician and patient and simplifying the technical
complexities often associated with healthcare delivery.
Scientific activity, primarily focused on oncology, gastroenterology,
and regenerative medicine, aims to foster diagnostic and therapeutic
innovation and its integration into clinical practice. The ultimate goal
is to maintain high standards of care and contribute to the scientific
and technological advancement of medical science.
